Many teens need support during the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been a difficult and confusing school year. Youth have endured stress, both their own and their parents’, and have been cut off from the supports that they normally have in a school environment. This can include a structured schedule, access to a school counselor, and regular time with friends.

VIA LINK offers a Crisis Teen Textline for young people who need support. The Textline is primarily meant to serve youth ages 13-22 throughout the state of Louisiana who are experiencing emotional distress. Specialists are able to provide emotional support, referrals to community resources, and crisis intervention as needed.

By accessing the Crisis Teen Textline, you can reach specialists trained in emotional support, crisis intervention, suicide intervention, and violence prevention. VIA LINK specialists are not here to judge, but offer a safe space, provide support, and help teens cope.

The Crisis Teen Textline is available 24/7. People can speak with a specialist by texting 833-TXT-TEEN. You can find out more information on the Crisis Teen Textline here, including a walkthrough of how the Textline works and more details on how it provides services.
